Work Experience

• Joined MAI Capital Management in 2025
• Brings over 30 years of experience working with institutional and high-net-worth investors
• Started at Evoke Advisors in 2020, and his primary areas of focus included institutional client service, investment performance measurement and attribution, portfolio analysis, and investment policy review and development.
• Sergio also served as the Assistant Fund Manager for the Advanced Research Alpha Fund, an Evoke-managed hedge fund-of-funds which seeks to deliver strong returns with low correlation to traditional markets.
• Prior to Evoke, joined ARIS (Advanced Research Investment Solutions) as one of its founding members at its launch in 2014
• Began his career at Merrill Lynch’s private banking and institutional consulting group, where he served as a Senior Investment Associate and Vice President

Life Outside of MAI 

• Served in the U.S. Army, rising to the position of field artillery crew chief
• Completed military training including the US Army’s Primary Leadership Development Course and Air Assault School
• Served three years of his tour in Baumholder, Germany
• Played baseball in high school and college and remains an avid recreational softball player
• An active runner who has completed the Los Angeles Marathon twice, as well as numerous other distance races.
